In line with the objects contained in section 4 (f) of the cidb Act 38 of 2000, which are to promote, establish or endorse
(i) uniform standards; and (ii) ethical standards, that regulate the actions, practices and procedures of parties engaged in construction contracts and in line with the powers, functions and duties of the board contained in section 5 of the Act, the Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) is hereby informed that the cidb approves and endorses the JBCC Principal Building Agreement contract, version 6.2, into the Standard for Uniformity in Engineering and Construction Works Contracts 2019, and for use by the public sector clients and contractors.
The cidb looks forward in working with the Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) to; implement the effective use of the said contracts, cultivate the culture of active development and effective regulation of the Construction Industry.
