Chief Executive Officer – The Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC)
Thamini is the Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Building Contracts Committee, with over a decade of experience in the Built Environment. Specializing in Construction Contract Development and Implementation, she uses that experience to make a positive impact in the South African Construction Industry.
By focusing on innovative construction methods and processes that revolutionize the built environment, Thamini has been able to optimize her degrees earned at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Over the years her experience has garnered her some recognition for acting with agility and her impactful influence on mental well-being with the built environment workplace.
Thamini is an avid academic and has contributed to various bodies of knowledge through her research on Public Sector Procurement and participation in conferences and journal publications. She is dedicated to improving the South African Built Environment with a focus on transforming the industry for women in construction, which she intends to carry out through her PhD research and the various transformation committees which she contributes to. She has most recently successfully launched the ‘Beautifully Built’ campaign, a feature of the JBCC, in which she aims to create a safe space for uncomfortable but necessary discussions for women within the built environment.
